Earlier this year, the South Bay Readers’ Choice Awards named ESUSD the South Bay’s Favorite School District! 🎉🏆

The district’s focus on college and career readiness played a key role in earning the community’s support for this award. With an 83% A-G completion rate, ESUSD is one of the best districts in the state when it comes to college readiness.

El Segundo Middle School math teacher Garrett Troche recently brought his quick thinking and positive energy to the national stage as a contestant on the trivia game show Press Your Luck! 🎉

Mr. Troche described the experience as a roller coaster and a dream come true. We are so proud of him and the enthusiasm he brings both in and out of the classroom.

Our 5th grade students closed out the year with an exciting celebration at Chevron Park! ☀️🎉 Students, families, and staff members from RSS and CSS enjoyed competitive games, fun activities, and delicious snacks. Have a great summer!

Center Street recently celebrated the final Cougars CARE Assembly of the year! 🎉🐾 To end the year on a high note, classrooms with the most School Spirit Awards were recognized for bringing heart, energy, and Cougar pride all year long. Way to lead the way!

Can you believe it? Today is the LAST DAY of the 2024-25 school year! 🎊 Congratulations to our students and staff for finishing strong—and for all you’ve achieved along the way. Have a fantastic summer break! 😎

The Class of 2025 recently returned to their elementary schools for one last walk through the halls! 🎓👏 Wearing their caps and gowns, they walked the campus one last time as current students cheered them on. It was a heartwarming celebration of how far they've come!

Fridays are better with Waffles! 🐶💙 Every week, therapy dog Waffles brings joy, comfort, and a whole lot of tail wags to Center Street School. His visits have brightened countless Fridays and made a lasting impact on students all across campus. A big thank you to Waffles’ wonderful mom, Mrs. Puffer, for sharing him with us and spreading even more cheer with her adorable Waffles stickers!

Join us in celebrating Annie, CSS Classified Employee of the Year! 🎉 Annie supports students in the Bridge classroom with a rare blend of patience, skill, and heart. Her calm, steady presence helps every student feel safe, seen, and supported. In addition to student support, Annie works closely with the Instructional Assistant team. She is always ready to step in, collaborate, and uplift those around her. We’re so grateful for the incredible impact she makes every single day.

Our Center Street Cougars recently wrapped up their CARE assembly series with a focus on the fourth and final pillar: Excellence! 💫 To bring this pillar to life, CSS’s amazing teachers performed a fun and engaging skit that showed what Excellence looks like in action—picking up trash even if it isn’t yours, cleaning up quickly after recess, and lining up right away. They also took time to recognize students who consistently show Excellence in their actions and choices every day. It was a joyful and inspiring celebration where everyone had fun, learned valuable lessons, and left motivated to keep showing their best!

Rain or shine, the Center Street Students and staff showed up in full spirit for this year's Run for Education! 💪👟 With smiles on their faces and staff members' red tutus twirling, this dedicated team ran, walked, and danced their way through the event—all for a great cause. Way to represent, Center Street!
