TK/Kindergarten Registration

TK/Kindergarten Registration: Let El Segundo families know that we are registering TK and Kindergarten age students for fall 2017! Priority registration for residents will be open until April 21st - help us plan for next year by registering early. Also, we will have space for additional students in 3rd and 4th grade at CSS next year. Please let any family friends from local areas know that we will be looking to offer permits to qualified students in these grade levels.

Support the PTA Run 4 Education

Show your El Segundo School spirit and register as a "Friend of the Run" for this year's 26th Annual El Segundo PTA Run 4 Education on Sat. April 22nd. Friend's of the Run show support for our hometown schools, get thanked by the event emcee on race day, see your name on the family sponsor wall, receive 2 FREE race registrations ($70.0 value), and NEW THIS YEAR: Get a Run for Education lawn sign! The Father Son “Capture the Flag” 3/26

Join dads and sons at Center Street School MARCH 26th, Sunday at 12:30pm. You can still buy the tickets online. We will be having a fun time in March with Capture the Flag and eating Beach Mex for lunch! Tickets can be purchased at for just $20/couple ($8 for each additional son).

ESCEI: El Segundo's Night for 4th & 5th Graders 3/23

Want to play awesome video games at school or learn more about El Segundo Highschool's STEM Programs? Come to ESCEI: El Segundo's Night on March 23 from 5:30-8:30 at the high school to experience ESCEI (El Segundo Cyber Education Initiative)

Students will learn computer science in a fun and engaging way through both high school mentoring and educational video games that we're sure you won't get enough of! Parents will also get a tour of the highschool's STEM program and have the chance to meet representatives from our corporate partners!

Support the 5th Graders!

Be on the lookout for our 5th grade fundraiser with Mixed Bags. The 5th grade is currently raising money for their 6th grade Outdoor Science School experience. They are selling Mixed Bags (very durable) bags that are very cool. If you would like more information or want to place an order, but don’t know a 5th grader, please contact The fundraiser ends on 3/15/17.

PTA Meeting 3/15

Come to the PTA meeting on Wednesday, March 15th at 9:15am in the CSS Cafeteria! We will be discussing the CSS PTA gift to the school and voting on the new board for next year. Please come see how we spend your money!!

Please donate to CASE next week!

Hurry! Supplies are disappearing from shelves at the CASE food pantry! It must be those sneaky little green guys who come around this time of year. Would you please help us stock the shelves for El Segundo families in need? We are collecting donations the week of March 6-March 9. The pantry is in need of: rice, flour, sugar, oil, honey, salt, coffee, pancake mix, syrup, salad dressing, canned - pineapples, peaches, & fruit cocktail, Jell-O & pudding mixes, toilet paper, paper towels and facial tissues.

Thursday, March 2nd is Read Across America Day!

There will be many fun activities going on at CSS, including a school-wide reading pledge, a bookmark contest and guest readers in the classrooms!
This year’s Read Across America theme is Celebrating a Nation of Diverse Readers! Students are encouraged to dress up as their favorite book character to help celebrate reading at CSS.
Celebrate reading with your family by taking a special trip to the library, reading a new picture book together or listening to an audio book in the car!
Thursday evening, please join us in the cafeteria for LITERACY NIGHT! Families can listen to stories read by some of your favorite teachers, read together, participate in a Writer’s Workshop lesson, and write about Presley! Dinner will be available for purchase from 5:30 to 6:00 and the event will run from 6:00 to 8:00. Hope to see you there!
